SPEEDY - HUNTING TESTS/HUNTING
Speedy has shown good instincts towards retrieving game.
In mid-july 2002 he passed the natural instinct test. We
also took part in Junior class in TollarSpecialen, Sweden.
Although he did not perform as well as he could have done
especially in searching, we finished all together fourth !
Here in Finland the step to beginners class in quite high if
you compare it to the natural instinct test but I wanted to
start with him once before winter in order to get some
experience. We got no prize but I was very pleased with him.
We have problems in game handling, especially getting it
into my hand :-( and in search. He also could be more
independent. But he is still "young and foolish" and we have
plenty of time to train. Hopefully next year he will be
mentally strong enough to do more independent work.
