15.12.2010 finally good news

Page for upcoming litter has been updated. We have chosen to breed Myrkky to a handsome and lovely Swede called Milton! I have met him several times before and a trip to meet him last month confirmed he was exactly the way I remembered. His CEA-test come back best possible (Myrkky is a carrier...) so we are now only waiting for Myrkky to get into season... :)

Myrkky and I competed in Obedience on Finnish National day in Hollola. The result was first prize in Open class and we also managed to win the class. I just wonder how long can we be this lucky....

25.10. OBEDIENCE

Yesterday Bitti and Myrkky competed obedience at the local club. Bitti did what she knows in elite, but got a zero in two moments so we come home with a sad third point. Myrkky was as good as she gets with just few minor mistakes. She is such a joy because of her high working morale. First prize in Open class with 184 points was the result.

25.10.2010 CATCHIN' UP!

Uups, time seems to fly! I hope I can remember the main points...

Nitro from R & R litter won the district championship in game tracking and participated Finnish championships. Unfortunately he did not qualify for the second day, but there is always next year and a possibility to start in this event is a win itself! Brother Josh has finished his Mater Hunter title in Canada! Congratulations!

Tinka out of Un-litter and Ready out of D & D -litter have done the Swedish MH test and both did nicely. Ready has also gotten a prize in hunting tests, congratulations! Tinka's brother Ville took a First prize in Hunting tests as well! WOW, Tina and Ville!

In the beginning of the month the traditional training weekend for Redadicts and Siipiveikko's was organized in Inkoo. You can see some picks here: training weekend 2010 Thanks for all the attendees and our super trainers! Maybe we will do it again next year :)

Our own dogs have dome few tests as well. The summary for all will be more training is needed! Naatti took two first prizes in beginners class, Myrkky has taken two zeros for various reasons and one third prize. Bitti took a second prize in open class Working test plus took a third prize in a normal B-hunting test. Myrkky has also taken three first prizes in beginners class obedience, which entitles her to TK1 title.

Sometimes one thing leads to another... Woima moved to Kangasala to live with Speedy's brother Otto, Zorro, Zico and of course Nina & Janne! Congratulations and good luck!

22.8. Moving Out

Daisy pups, I mean... We wish all good luck in the future! They all have gone to wonderful homes where they will hopefully show their potential. First at shoe business, later at something else ;)

For the moment we will take a long rest from all puppy plans. Who knows, maybe we will be back. First I need to win in lottery, move to a house somewhere in the woods and find a suitable male. Plus few other things....

19.8 Testing, Testing

Janne Ruokonen, who has already tested three of our litters, tested Footwear-pups on Saturday. I can only say WOOOOWWW! All of the pups were really energetic, had very good nerve structure and capacity to function. That's what I ordered :D!!! This litter was very even mentally though there are differences in their exterior. Pups' performance at the test sealed what I already had assumed, no one of these is suitable for being be just a pet. That means that Toronto will stay home. I hope Bitti and rest of the gang will teach him some manners... I want to wish all the buyers good luck with their pups :) If, and only if, the right person shows up behind the door he may move... We'll see!

19.8 Otto and Samuli did it

They got a first prize in beginners class hunting test in Sastamala. Congratulations! I'm really happy for the good work they have done!

10.8.2010 RESULTS

Tinka has passed the retrieve test! Sister Pihka took a third prize in beginners class hunting test. Congratulations both and good luck in the future!

The PRA results of the pups have arrived. All boys are normal/clear as are Regina and Victoria. Charlotte, Winnipeg and Quebec are carriers.

We competed obedience in Janakkala, me and Myrkky. Got together 195 points out of 200 and got a first prize. She's such a good girl! A week ago we competed in Loviisa where we got together 190 points :)

2.8.2010 news

The pups are doing fine and growing like weeds. Their weight is now around 3 kg. Unfortunately some of them have umbilical hernias and that finding resulted into cancellation of a reservation. So we have a puppy without an active and ambitious home! The good thing is that finally we have some new picks of them ;) Go to: litters own page.

Last weekend we spent in Joensuu. On Saturday we competed for club championships in hunting tests. Naatti got an "accidental" zero, Myrkky & Jani second prize on beginners class and Bitti a third prize in Open class plus was best dog in open class. Otto and Ilo started as well but had no interest to work properly and ended up with zeros... On Sunday it was time for the Toller Show. Naatti was second best in utility class with an excellent, Myrkky won utility class females and was also selected BOB-utility. With that result who also become Finnish Junior Toller Master! Bitti got excellent but did not get placed in champion class. Otto was second best champion male, Pihka third best female in utility class and Ilo got a very good. Together with Myrkky they represented Redadict in Breeders group. Thank you all!

On Sunday Rasa got her third first prize in Game Tracking and become Game Tracking Champion! Congratulations!

14.7.2010 news

Proper summer up in North as well! Plus 30 degrees Celsius is just perfect for me. The dogs get their exercise in lake Meiko where we go almost daily. Surely no need to keep the radiator on in the puppy room either ;) The pups are growing like weeks and taking their first proper steps. Someone even tried to practice barking last night.

Jing out of R & R litter has had her litter in Norway! Altogether 7 healthy pups. Congratulations! Jing's brother Kimi has passed Companion Dog test in Germany and his owner has gotten her hunting license. Well done both, congratulations!

Essi, Daughter of Kössi and Eve has finished her game tracking championships, Congratulations!

Myrkky got her first CAC at Karjaa on Sunday. Two more to go for her chow champion title. We will get there...

5.7.2010 pups etc

Most important update might be fact that Daisy's pups are here! They were born last Wednesday. We have three males and five females visiting the milk bar while they are not taking a nap. The delivery was very smooth and easy and all are doing just fine.

Few nice results by some of our older pups ;) Ilo took an unofficial beginners class hunting test and got a first prize and was placed second. Congrats Helena & Ilo! Brother Ville has taken the Swedish retrieve test and done the mental description with 1 on the shot. Excellent work Ville and Tina! Nitro has been tracking again, this time it was not a first prize but a first prize with full points! Congrats!

13.6.2010 Trackin' R & R's

Nitro took the final first prize needed to finalize his game tracking championship last Sunday. Congrats Niina, Pasi and Nitro!

Sister Jing tracked herself two first prizes the same day and was chosen third best dog on Saturday! Congrats!

12.6.2010 Rasa PASSED THE RETRIEVE TEST!

Rasa took the retrieve test judged by Petri Tuominen in Vehmaa and passed! This means she will become Finnish show champion as well. Thanks and Congrats to her co-owner Marja-Liisa!

11.6.2010 TRAINING AND RESULTS

Last weekend we had the privilege to train for the Swedish "toller guru" Anita Norrblom right here in Finland. It was high quality training as usual and I believe I speak for all of us if I say everybody learned something new during those days. Big thanks for Anna and Ville who arranged us the training grounds and accommodation.

Rest of the health results for Naatti are here. She has free hips, elbows, knees and eyes. Good news! Unfortunately it's not going that well for Tiitus who had a huge lump on his left side. First we thought it was just a boil, then it was diagnosed as a tumor. The lump was examined by an pathologist and is turned out to be full of dead sells and blood. Probably a reaction after a hit or something like that but the body did not know how to react.

Congrats to Spex (Kössi x Rasa) for becoming SU (u) CH, Swedish show champion without hunting merit that is!

24.5.2010 First quality weekend

What a great weekend! My co-owned bitch Rasa and Nitro from R&R litter took both first prize in game tracking. One more first price for each and they will make their championship! Jing got a "big" CAC in Norway on Saturday and now needs only one more for her show championship. Congrats to all!

Naatti and Myrkky took the retrieve test (NOU) on Saturday and passed :D

8.5.2010 excellent results

Congratulations to Otto and Samuli who worked themselves a second first prize in open class obedience. Way to go! Kössi-Toppa kits Spex and Impa have both started in beginners class hunting test in Sweden and both got a third prize. Congratulations!

Naatti and Myrkky took part in their first test ever and did very well! It was an unofficial hunting test for young retrievers called Uudenmaan Ohjus (missile of Newland ;)). Myrkky and Jani finished fifth out of 26 dogs with 61 points out of 66. Naatti was sixth with 60 points. Two best tollers, anyway :)

Congratulations to Otto and Samuli who have taken a first prize in open class obedience. Super!

Daisy was selected Finnish toller club's newcomer for year 2009. Not that surprising due to her amazing results last year :D

We just come back from Germany where we travelled to mate Daisy with Boots. Now it's done and we can wait for pups in the beginning of June. The trip went well, but what can you expect when you meet German hospitality and lots of nice people :D Some sightseeing was also done. And shopping ;)

5.4. CAC for RASA, JING best toller in retriever cup, CDX for Josh!

Rasa and her siblings in Toppa/Kössi litter turned two on 2.4. Congrats! Today we drove to Lappeenranta show and did not come home empty handed! Rasa's last CAC and BOS!

Jing become best toller and overall 6th best dog in the Norwegian Retrieve Cup, competition for most versatile retriever. Her room mate, Tiitus' brother, Remus finished eighth out of 80 entered dogs. Congratulations!

Josh has taken a new obedience title: CDX! Congratulations!

29.3.2010 NEWS AND UPDATES

Oona's daughters have done some really nice results! Tinka got her third first prize in open class obedience, Pihka was fourth best female and Ilo finished the unofficial test "Winter hunting test" with 39,5 points out of 40! Magnificent, congratulations to all! Oona gave birth to five healthy pups sired by Ducke today; 3 boys and two girls, in Siipiveikon kennel. Congratulations!

Kössi-son Toppen has made his retrieve test in Skåne, his sister took a CAC a while ago and sister Rasa took a first prize in open class obedience with 196 points out of 200. Awesome! Congratulations!

14.3.2010 NEWS

Busy, busy, busy. Missed few birthdays, sorry! Naatti turned one year a week ago and Daisy two last month... We also have the results from Optigen: Rasa is CEA-clear but PRA-carrier. Myrkky is PRA-clear but CEA-carrier.

Speedy is getting older and it starts to show. He has been drinking a lot lately and the reason for that turned out to be pain caused by arthritis. He in now permanently on pain killers and seems to do lot better.

The conditions are not ideal for training but we have managed to do some decent work with the young ones and Bitti. We had the privilege to have Anita Norrblom as an instructor for a weekend and that was just amazing (picks in the gallery). Thanks Anita and Anna & Ville for helping make this true.

8.2. health news

Myrkky's x-ray results are back! A/A hips and 0:0 elbows. Great :) Also her sister Ready has been x-rayed but the sides were not even so her owner wanted to do a re-x-ray later. The other hip was excellent but the other somewhere between B and C according to the vet. Ready will be checked by a physiotherapist or a masseuse in order to find out if a reason for hips not being even can be found.

We are still waiting for news from Optigen. Meanwhile Eppu got his: PRA-A, CEA-A. Congrats!

31.1 puppy stuff

Well, somehow puppy related anyway... First I want to mention how proud and happy we are for two Swedes who showed their beauty for the Finnish Paula Rekiranta at Strömsholm a week or so ago. Toppen was BOS and earned CAC likewise did his sister Fina who was second bet female. Congrats!

Daisy's litter plans have taken one step ahead as we finally have a date for her chosen ones' arrival! I have updated planned litter with some picks of both Daisy and Boots. I honestly hope and believe this combination will produce some nice dogs with lots of drive, will to please and working capacity. I expect to find a bunch of nice puppy buyers who are willing to work their dogs within hunting, obedience and stuff. So if you are interested in a "working machine" contact us ;)

Oh yes, other plans are going forward as well. Rasa's blood sample has been sent to Optigen and the result will either help me make a decisions regarding stud for her litter, or not. Myrkky has been x-rayed as well and now we wait for the FKC's judgment on her hips and elbows. According to the vet they were just fine. Her knees were OK as well as were her eyes counting out two distichiasis lashes. Also Myrkky's blood was sent overseas so it's double as exciting to wait for the results! 

11.1 welcoming the new year

Happy new year everybody! I hope this year will be as nice and successful as the last one was. I want to thank all my wonderful puppy buyers and co-owners for taking such good care of their dogs.

Little bit of this and little bit of that is planned for year 2010! We will take it easy with the little girls and build a solid base before adding more "serious" training into their schedule. Both will participate the retrieve test and maybe even hunting tests. Myrkky will hopefully start at least in obedience and Naatti in game tracking. Bitti will start in elite class obedience and hopefully open class in hunting tests. There is still plenty of things to train but we will do our best! Main focus for Tiitus is to do agility. Speedy gets to do nothing accept take walks and keep himself as happy and healthy as possible. Rasas main thing is to pass the retrieve test but also some obedience, game tracking and even agility is planned. Daisy will take it easy until fall since Laura has a little girl to take care of :) Most of our attention will go to planned litters: Daisy will be mated to Redland's Rubber Boots if he arrives on time. Rasa will also have her date with a gentleman in the fall. There are some males I have taken a closer look and will go meet in the future. I will update the upcoming litters page as soon as things are confirmed.

This years result bank was opened by Kirsi and Tinka. They competed obedience in open class last week and took a first prize. Congratulations!

Our trip north to Winter Show in Kajaani was a true success! Rasa BOB, Cacib and CAC, Myrkky second best female with res-CAC. Naatti got EXC and finished third best junior bitch, Daisy won utility class with EXC and Pihka was second with EXC. Tinka participated also and got a Very good. Congrats to all. And many thanks to our friends who made this trip possible and so much fun. Sami and Kirsi & Jussi and Teresa were perfect hosts :) Thanks also to Marianne, my colleague from work and Anna & Ville for taking care of the dogs staying "home".
